Well, happy holidays to you too

The experience of flying in this country has become decidedly surreal, especially during the holiday season. Usually I’m too concerned with getting to my destination to bother taking it all in. But if you step back you’ll witness such scenes as vast roomfuls of total strangers eagerly tearing off their clothes and shoes, prepared to submit to the most arbitrary demands in order to get their laptops back, before being wished a happy Thansgiving by the man who has just gently molested them.

It’s all a bit like a less pretentious version of Eyes Wide Shut.
