You damn dirty Pashtun!

By: Daniel Polansky

The quasi-insane Ralph Peters column that had Larison so outraged and made Dan think of the sci-fi classic Dune, made me instead think of the sci-fi non-classic Enemy Mine. I picture an American G.I and a Pashtun warlord stranded together in the wilds of the Hindu Kush, forced to rely on one another for survival. Ultimately, they would realize they had more in common than they had presupposed (or not, in Peters’ telling).

No word yet, however, on whether Pashtun males can give birth, though as Winston Churchill said, “the life of a Pathan is full of interest.”
