Join AF-DC for a powerful in-person discussion on homelessness in the DMV area with Adam Theo from YIMBY NoVa.

Join AF-DC for an interactive discussion on homelessness in the DMV area. We are thrilled to have Adam Theo, a prominent advocate from YIMBY NoVa, as our keynote speaker. This event will take place on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 6:30 PM at AF-HQ on Dupont Circle.

AF Members can attend this event for free! Email addison@americasfuture.org to claim your free ticket.

Earlier this year, Adam was physically beaten for stepping in to prevent a domestic assault of a woman on the street. He then spoke publicly about criminal justice reform and was attacked on social media.

For this discussion, we will dive into topics of homelessness, criminal justice reform, and potential community solutions.

About Adam Theo

As co-founder and Director of Communications of the grassroots housing advocacy group YIMBYs of Northern Virginia, member of Arlington County’s Transportation Commission, frequent volunteer at local charities, and a former candidate for Arlington County Board on a pro-growth platform in 2022, Adam Theo is heavily involved in local civics and advocacy. He is currently returning to college in pursuit of a degree in public administration and non-profit management.

Theo is a veteran of the Air Force Reserves as a civil engineer with a deployment to Afghanistan in 2011. He has lived both sides of law enforcement: not only as a communications consultant working alongside police and other first responders for almost a decade, but also incarcerated in county jail as a young adult. Before moving to Arlington 11 years ago, he had been homeless – twice! – including during DC’s ‘Snowmageddon’ winter of 2009-’10.

This event is for young professionals ages 21-40. Your ticket includes appetizers and beverages. Closest metro is Dupont South.
