Chapter Highlights: Austin

By: Kathryn Shelton

unnamedAFF-Austin kicked off its year of programming by hosting an evening discussion and reception titled “Going Against The Grain” featuring New York Times best-selling author, John Durant (“The Paleo Manifesto”).  Our venue was packed with attendees on Austin’s east side for a great discussion that touched on a range of topics, including how alternative diets are not only changing common knowledge about healthy eating habits, but are also disrupting the entrenched powers exercising control over the agriculture industry.  The discussion was moderated by AF-Austin board member, Max Borders, editor of the Freeman Magazine and co-founder of Voice & Exit.  AFF’s Austin Chapter continues to grow, and with this event teamed up with Liberty on the Rocks to welcome seventy people, including many new faces.
