Charles Krauthammer’s other occupation

By: David Donadio

When he’s not writing, Charles Krauthammer is teaming up with his wife Robyn to keep Jewish music alive. Ellyn Wexler writes here on the Krauthammers’ effort to bring together the work of Dmitri Shostakovich (Update: as Damir and reader JB point out, a philosemite, but not actually a Jew), Russian Jewish composers, folk songs, and distinguished musicians like Itzhak Perlman.

The most enjoyable passage may actually be an aside:

Neither Krauthammer has professional music credentials; he played piano and guitar while growing up, his “career as rhythm guitarist in a rock band … mercifully abbreviated,” and she took cello and piano lessons as an adult.
