How You Can Help the Tennessee Tornado Recovery
As I’m sure you have heard by now, several cities in middle Tennessee are recovering from devastating tornadoes that hit on March 3, 2020. Nashville and Cookeville sustained major damage, and while communities in Tennessee have jumped in to help, there is still a long way to go.
The Beacon Center has highlighted several organizations that are accepting donations to help victims rebuild and stay comfortable in the time being.
—The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee is accepting donations to help in the immediate and long term with finding housing for displaced Tennesseans, rebuilding community hubs, and meeting other tangible needs.
—Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is accepting money, food, and water donations to help Tennesseans who are still out of power and looking for permanent housing.
Tennessee is resilient. There is no question that the community has done so much to aid in relief efforts, but we cannot do it alone. If you are able to give your time and resources, those of us in the affected communities would appreciate it more than we can express. If you prefer to give to another organization or donate in a different way, please email me at [email protected], and I will be more than happy to help.
