Learn it, Live it, Love it: The Inalienable Rights Edition

By: Cindy Cerquitella

Learn it:

Has it been a while since you’ve had the thrill of sitting in a classroom learning something brand new? If you’re aching for some knowledge check out these 600 free online courses from 190 universities. (hat tip: Pattie Rausch on the Rules of Networking facebook group.)

This week’s news has been filled with the terrible story of Jamal Khashoggi’s disappearance from the Saudi Arabian Consulate last week. Read his last article on the need for free expression in the Middle East, and take it as a charge to work to preserve it everywhere.

Live it:

If you aren’t on the Humans of New York bandwagon yet, now is the time to jump on the train. His recent interviews with the brave “rescuers” that risked their lives to save those facing genocide in Rwanda in the 90s leaves you both in terror and awe at what humans are capable of. If you’re as moved as I am, consider donating to his Patreon account, which has raised over $12,000,000 for charitable causes. As one rescuer said, “ when you’re standing aside while people die, every excuse is a lame one.”

Love it:

I was thrilled to read this call by Steve Forbes, Art Laffer, Fred Smith and Stephen Moore this morning, Mr. President, It’s Time for Zero Tariffs.

I spent Wednesday night listening to Death Cab for Cutie at The Anthem and it reminded me of other bands I still love from my “youth.” Namely Bloc Party, I like to play Silent Alarm to get the workday off to a good start.
