America’s Future Is Accepting Applications for Three Fellowships

By: Chloe Anagnos

Big news season at America’s Future: we have three fellowship applications open at the same time – our Writing Fellowship, LEAD Fellowship, and our brand-new Podcasting Fellowship!

Different tracks, same mission: equipping the next generation of leaders and communicators to advance free markets, limited government, and personal responsibility with clarity, confidence, and impact. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to sharpen your skills, expand your influence, or step into your next leadership chapter, this is it.

The Writing Fellowship

America’s Future has a long history of cultivating strong communicators and advocates for freedom. From Doublethink magazine in the 1990s to today’s nationally recognized Writing Fellowship, we’ve always believed that communications tools empower young people to be active, civil, and curious citizens. Nearly 800 young professionals are now Writing Fellowship alumni. They’ve gone on to publish books, serve as communicators for elected officials, and land bylines in outlets like The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, USA Today, The Federalist, Washington Examiner, National Review, and Reason Magazine.

This fellowship is designed to sharpen your writing, clarify your thinking, and help you communicate ideas that matter—whether you’re aiming for op-eds, policy writing, or long-form storytelling. Applications close March 6 at 11:59 p.m. ET!

This fellowship is taught by Matt Purple. He’s enjoyed a long career in journalism and publishing, during which his work has appeared in The SpectatorThe American ConservativeReasonThe Washington ExaminerNational ReviewRare Politics, and many others. He’s currently an editor at the foreign policy think tank Defense Priorities. His first book, a collection of essays called Decline From the Top, is available on Amazon.

The Podcasting Fellowship
America’s Future is excited to launch its newest professional development program, the Podcasting Fellowship. The Podcasting Fellowship equips liberty-minded young professionals with the skills to create compelling audio content. Fellows learn interview techniques, storytelling fundamentals, and podcast production basics while building the confidence to launch podcasts that advance the ideas of free markets, limited government, and personal responsibility. This fellowship is designed for liberty-minded young professionals who currently host a podcast or plan to launch one, including those working at aligned organizations seeking to expand their reach through audio storytelling.

Over the course of six weeks, participants will develop interview techniques that build rapport quickly and draw out compelling stories, storytelling skills that take listeners on a clear and engaging narrative journey, a working knowledge of podcast formats, production workflows, and audio basics, and the confidence to launch or strengthen a podcast aligned with the freedom movement. This virtual fellowship is held via Zoom on Wednesday evenings from 6:30–8:00 p.m. ET, and fellows should plan to attend all sessions. Applications close March 11 at 11:59 p.m. ET!

This fellowship is taught by Mike Cosper. He is a journalist and podcaster, and the author, most recently, of Land of My Sojourn: The Landscape of a Faith Lost and Found. His podcasts include The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill and The Promised Land, both produced at Christianity Today, where he serves as the director of Media. His previous books include Rhythms of Grace, Recapturing the Wonder, and Faith Among the Faithless.

The LEAD Fellowship
Here’s the reality: 10,000 Baby Boomers retire every day. A recent study from the Pew Research Center shows that 50 percent more young Americans are in leadership and management roles than a decade ago. The LEAD Fellowship helps new and emerging leaders develop practical skills and adopt the mindsets needed to lead effectively in their organizations and communities through a freedom-focused leadership lens.

Over six weeks, participants will develop their personal leadership philosophy; practical skills such as strategic planning, human resources tools, and budgeting; the mindsets that make leaders more effective at every level; and a cross-country peer network and mentorship community to support long-term growth. This virtual fellowship meets for six classes on Tuesday evenings from 6:30–8:00 p.m. ET. Applications close March 11 at 11:59 p.m. ET!

This fellowship is taught by Meredith Turney, Senior Director of Leadership and Talent Development at State Policy Network, a Certified Professional Coach with the International Coach Federation, and a specialist in leadership coaching, peer group facilitation, talent development, and organizational culture. Meredith is a graduate of the Torrey Honors Institute at Biola University and received her juris doctorate, cum laude, from Oak Brook College of Law.

Three Fellowships, One Mission
