Nominations are Open for the 2018 Buckley Awards

By: AF Editors

Nominate a young professional you know who has gone above-and-beyond in service to the freedom movement.

Every day across the country young liberty-minded Americans are fighting to increase freedom in our society. They believe that free markets and limited government better the lives and happiness of all. And they’ve made it a mission in their own lives to advance these values. Whether through founding leadership or grassroots programs, impacting the direction of policy, or using their voice to advance the principles of liberty in our culture, their efforts are significantly contributing to the advancement of freedom in our country–and they deserve to be recognized.

William F. Buckley, Jr., was one of these such young Americans when, before the age of 30, he became the leader of the early conservative movement championing fusion–a philosophy that brought together various strands of conservatism to work together to achieve political success and conserve America’s founding principles. In his honor, the Buckley Awards recognize outstanding young professionals for their above-and-beyond service to the liberty movement.

Do you know such a young leader? Nominate them for the 2018 Buckley Awards.

Nominees must be:
– between the ages of 22-40 and identify as liberty-minded
– able to accept award in Washington, DC, at the award ceremony
– nominated by someone other than the nominee

Nominees must also have made a significant contribution to the liberty movement at large by either:
– leading and/or organizing a significant grassroots and/or high profile initiative
– significantly contributing to advancement of our principles or young liberty activism (for students or young professionals)
– meaningfully impacting news coverage of a high profile issue in the last year
– displaying courage under fire

Originally founded and organized by the Young Conservatives Coalition from 2010-2016, the Buckley Award Ceremony is still one of the only ones in our movement that focuses on great achievements of liberty-minded young professionals. This year’s Buckley Award winners will join the ranks of such trailblazing freedom fighters as Ryan T. Anderson, Mollie Hemingway, Yuval Levin, Katie Pavlich, and more.

Help us to celebrate the courage, service, and dedication of liberty-minded young professionals working to advance freedom and liberty by nominating a leader you know. Once you’ve submitted your nominations, be sure to RSVP to join us for the award ceremony and reception on October 24.

Nominations are now being accepted through Friday, Aug. 31, 2018.
