Later this year, AF plans to launch some exciting training designed to help you achieve change within your communities, but until then, I recommend checking out this awesome course from Acumen Academy on applying lean start up strategies to social change.

And if you’re like me and are looking for free market solutions to climate change to share with your friends, check out this brand new course from the American Conservation Coalition. Several AF members have already joined and have given it rave reviews.

And finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t encourage you to watch the impeachment arguments taking place in Congress this week. One thing I loved about my education at Hillsdale is that we always read original sources first- so I encourage you to do the same. Go read the transcripts and watch the videos before checking out what news channels or others have to say.

Live it:
There are a few great ways to engage with AF in the coming weeks. First, we have several job openings right now – take a look and apply! Next, I encourage you to read Ashley Keimach’s beautiful words about Black History Month and it’s celebration of American history. And finally, if that inspired you to learn more, consider joining AF as a member and attending the fantastic conversation on racial justice and freedom we’ll be hosting just for our members on February 22.

Reading this article by AF alum Conor Friedersdorf really got me thinking about AF and the discussions we host. How can we ensure that diverse viewpoints are always present in our discussions, and that we aren’t just giving in to group think? One great way is to invite your friends – especially those with whom you disagree – to attend AF events with you!

Love it:
This year, Valentine’s Day coincides with a three day weekend, and since most of us are still stuck in some form of lockdown, this year’s celebrations might look a little different. Here are a few suggestions for celebrating love anyway. First, raise a glass and toast to our newest self-made 31-year-old billionaire Whitney Wolfe Heard, founder of Bumble. Next, set a pot of simmering beef short ribs on the stove in preparation for a cozy day in. Then take your choice of streaming options – a marathon of To All the Boys, perhaps? Or, watch some Madame Secretary – sure the international intrigue is fun, but I particularly like watching the marriage of Bess and Henry. Sounds like a pretty good way to spend the weekend to me!
