America’s Future has a long history of cultivating strong communicators and advocates for free markets, limited government, and personal responsibility. From DoubleThink magazine in the 1990s to our esteemed Writing Fellowship, we recognize that practical communication tools empower young people to be active, civil, and curious citizens.
Now, we’re excited to launch a special edition of our Writing Fellowship–Book Publishing. Join a select cohort of aspiring authors for an immersive, career-launching fellowship in Washington, DC.
Over the course of five transformative weeks, fellows will gain real-world insight into the world of book publishing—from editorial and marketing to agenting, rights, and production. You’ll network with industry leaders, collaborate with fellow creatives, and leave with a clear path toward your future in publishing.
Your facilitator and mentors are those who have successfully navigated this complex process and have outlined a structured path for our fellows. Join our inaugural book publishing fellowship for nonfiction writing and transform your non-fiction book from a work-in-progress to a completed masterpiece, alongside industry/movement leaders. Classes are on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 pm ET at the AF Clubhouse in Washington, DC.

Do I have to be an AF National Member to apply?
No, but it is strongly encouraged! AF National Members receive preferential acceptance into all AF fellowships. Become a member today!
What are the expectations for course attendance?
To graduate from the program, participants must attend all classes.
What makes a strong candidate for this program?
Great candidates for this program will demonstrate a desire to increase their communication skills and alignment with AF’s mission and values. Preferential consideration will be given to AF Writing Fellows graduates. This cohort is specifically for non-fiction, political, and cultural writers.
