America’s Future Foundation’s Chicago chapter gathers local young professionals monthly in downtown Chicago to discuss current events, economics, and political ideas. We network think tank, business, cultural, and technology leaders in a laid back, intellectually stimulating environment. We’re organized by eight local young professionals who volunteer their time to create a community of engaged, informed people in the Windy City.
Please contact our chapter at firstname.lastname@example.org, join us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter. See our previous events, including roundtables and public debates on AFF-Chicago’s YouTube channel.
Click here to become a member of AFF-Chicago. Membership is $50, and includes admission to all AFF-Chicago events for one year, a drink ticket at every event, and the book of your choice from a selection of free market and pro-liberty titles.
RSVP for this event via Eventbrite! Chemicals. GMO food. Fad diets. Anti-vaccine crusades. The obesity epidemic. You’ve seen the headlines scream about them. We are bombarded with claims that the world is a dangerous place. This culture of alarmism is weaving its way into nearly every aspect of our daily lives, making people worry about [...]

“Unlikely Heroes of the Arab Spring”, produced by Free to Choose Network, is an eye-opening exploration of the volatile economic conditions that led to the 2010 Arab uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa. Through the stories of business people and everyday citizens across the region, the program clearly demonstrates that the Arab Spring and [...]
I Wish to Apologize to the People of Illinois With its trademark interactive style, The Agency tells the true story of Stuart Levine, the fallen Chicago power broker whose lurid testimony brought down some of Illinois’ highest-powered politicos. Sex, drugs and electronic cigarettes are just the tip of this mucky iceberg. Join America’s Future Foundation [...]
John Stossel says, “This is the film that needed to be made.” People all around the world are increasingly realizing that drug prohibition has failed to achieve its goals. Drug use rates have not declined and drugs are more available—and cheaper—than ever before. At the same time, the drug war has resulted in a long [...]
It’s 2013 and we live in a world of ObamaCare, NSA surveillance of American citizens, soda bans, transfat bans, plastic grocery bag bans, and on and on and on. It seems like each day the news brings a new tale of how government is growing and limiting the freedom of Americans. Many libertarians and conservatives hold the [...]
Kennedy is best known as the host of MTV’s “Alternative Nation,” where she helped popularize alternative bands such as Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and many others. But Kennedy is alternative herself: she has a liberty-based, free market view of the world. Kennedy now hosts a radio talk show in Los Angeles. She is also a [...]
Written in 1966, ‘The Moon is a Harsh Mistress’ is acclaimed science fiction writer Robert A. Heinlein’s story about a lunar colony’s revolt against rule from Earth. Widely admired for its credible presentation of a comprehensively imagined future human society on both the Earth and the moon, it is generally considered one of Heinlein’s major [...]
The welfare state is bankrupt. It’s not just the ballooning government debt. It’s the unfunded liabilities – trillions and trillions and trillions of dollars. It’s the crumbling currencies of governments intent on “stimulating” their way to collapse. It’s the erosion of moral capital – of personal responsibility, planning for the future, work, and savings. Now [...]
For people who already believe, the value and merit of the ideas of liberty, free minds, and free markets are self-evident. Yet, at the ballot box, voters continue to choose politicians who advance ideas and policies that reduce and hinder, not enhance, liberty. We wouldn’t suggest that this is merely the result of a “branding” [...]
