AF Chicago Welcomes the Charles Koch Institute and Learns About Economics

By: Kathryn Shelton

The Chicago Chapter of America’s Future teamed up with Denise Froning from the Charles Koch Institute for an interactive presentation on fundamental economic concepts.

Attendees participated in exercises designed to illustrate how the free market works and discussed concepts such as opportunity costs, subjective value, and the benefits of free trade as well as strategies on how best to introduce these critical economic concepts to those unfamiliar with them, especially in terms of winning moral arguments and using positive vocabulary. Following the event, AF members and non-members networked, sharing their ideas and experiences with one another.

Special thanks to Eric Kohn, Chairman of AF Chicago, for this state chapter highlight.
