A Conversation with the Listen First Project

July 22, 2019 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Tobacco Road Sport Cafe & Brewery

505 W Jones St., Raleigh, NC 27603

If you’ve logged into social media or turned on a television in the last four years or so, you may have noticed a startling trend toward polarization, particularly in a political context. Our virtual echo chambers and lack of real conversation have led to the erosion of relationships that a staggering 75% of Americans say has reached a crisis level.

It is in the belief that civil discourse is fundamental to the success of our communities that AF-Raleigh is thrilled to partner with the Listen First Project for a discussion about respecting others and how to bridge divides- one conversation at a time.

We will also be providing copies of “Love Your Enemies: How Decent People can Save America from the Culture of Contempt” by Arthur Brooks (while supplies last).

Politics affects all of us. Regardless of your political affiliation or level of formal political involvement, we hope you’ll join us for a dynamic conversation about how we as individuals can move our nation forward together.

RSVP includes two drink tickets.

Please note Tobacco Road will reimburse guests for parking in the Powerhouse Square Parking deck, located directly behind the restaurant, upon presentation of your parking receipt.
