Deirdre McCloskey

Deirdre Nansen McCloskey is a Senior Fellow and holder of the Isaiah Berlin Chair in Liberal Thought at the Cato Institute. She has had a distinguished academic career at the University of Illinois at Chicago as an Emerita Distinguished Professor of Economics, History, English, and Communication. McCloskey is the author of 25 books and over 500 scholarly articles, covering a vast range of topics including economics, rhetoric, ethics, and liberalism. With deep expertise in classical liberalism and a unique personal journey, McCloskey will offer a profound historical and philosophical perspective on liberty.

Veronique De Rugy

Veronique de Rugy is the George Gibbs Chair in Political Economy and Senior Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. As a nationally syndicated columnist and expert in fiscal policy, she frequently contributes to debates on economic growth, tax policy, and government spending. De Rugy’s work has appeared in major media outlets such as The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and Reason. She will offer a political and policy-focused perspective on how classical liberal principles can address contemporary challenges in government and economics.
