Exorcize the Demons: Hill's Unworthy Even of Veep
Andrew abandons all hope of a unity ticket:
I think she has now made it very important that Obama not ask her to be the veep. The way she is losing is so ugly, so feckless, so riddled with narcissism and pathology that this kind of person should never be a heartbeat away from the presidency.
Welcome to the party. The Clintons are unfit for public service. Who can listen to Bill jabber on like an early morning crackhead about poor Hillary’s
ability to endure in the face of all the blows that have been rained on her: outspent, dismissed, denigrated, declared dead…when I met her, I found that in her personal relationships she lacked self-confidence and was painfully shy. She is having more fun now than at the beginning. If you look at her, she seems perfectly relaxed, doesn’t she?
This is an almost incomprehensible level of delusion and mendaciousness coming from an operator far too calculating and egomaniacal for such remarks to be anything but part of a deliberate campaign to use the national media to destroy truth with lies. And make no mistake: post-Cheney, the Vice Presidency is the Clintons’ last, best chance to repossess our souls:
as a senior Obama adviser told me Wednesday, some Clinton supporters are “pushing real, real hard to get her on the ticket.” — Roger Simon, Politico
We all should have seen this coming on like projectile vomit at an exorcism. Don’t waver now, America. Drive them from power no matter the cost. The power of Christ compels you.
UPDATE: Karen Tumulty is hip to the machinations:
Her husband, for one, seems to have a pretty clear idea what he thinks she should get as a consolation prize. In Bill Clinton’s view, she has earned nothing short of an offer to be Obama’s running mate, according to some who are close to the former President. Bill “is pushing real hard for this to happen,” says a friend.
UPDATE 2: a woman who’ll stop at nothing draws a popular, charismatic politician into a dangerous game:
U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton‘s presidential campaign is in formal talks with Senator Barack Obama‘s campaign about becoming his vice presidential running mate, CNN reported, without citing anyone specific.
The two Democratic campaigns are talking about ways for Clinton, from New York, to drop her bid for president that may include joining the Illinois senator’s ticket, CNN reported. Talks are in a “very preliminary” stage and are described as “difficult,” the network said.
