Institute for Justice Sues the IRS

A month before Tax Day, the Institute for Justice is getting ready to take the IRS to court. Teaming up with three independent tax preparers, IJ is filing suit against the IRS in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, challenging the IRS’s statutory authority to impose its protectionist licensing scheme (since Congress never gave the IRS the authority to license tax preparers).
