Learn it, Live it, Love it: The August Edition
Learn it:
This week, Tim Ferris broke the internet by interviewing Charles Koch on his podcast, the Tim Ferris Show (If you can sit through the first 20 minutes of disclaimer — why you need to rationalize the reasons for interviewing a billionaire, I don’t know!) the interview is pretty interesting about Koch’s start, and his strategic thinking. Give it a listen, and maybe leave a comment in support of civil discourse!

If you’re like me, you’ve been watching the protests in Hong Kong this week with bated breath. From shutting down the airport to withstanding tear gas attacks in metro stations, these protestors are showing immense bravery in the face of China’s power. This is about so much more than extradition; I truly believe this is a fight for global freedom, and I hope you’ll keep your eyes on all that’s happening there.
I don’t know how much we as individuals can do, except stand in solidarity and not take our eyes off of the Chinese government’s actions. If you’re in the DC area, consider joining me at the HK Rally on Sunday. For an inside peek at what’s going on, the Independent Women’s Forum’s Claudia Rossett is reporting on the ground.
If you are looking for a way to support community a little closer to home, consider donating to the recovery of Rachel Barkley, an AF alum who discovered a tumor on her spine last month after giving birth to her son and is currently working to regain movement after it was removed.
