Learn it, Live it, Love it: The Summer Vacation Edition
Next week I’m headed to the Outer Banks for a week of relaxation and blue-sky thinking #AFFleisure. But don’t worry, my AF love never sleeps, I’ve got a board meeting scheduled for that week as well! #AFFinaction.
Learn It:
Working in the freedom movement, I attend a lot of panels, and I mean a lot. And, as an organization that hosts events weekly, AFers coordinate panels pretty regularly. I loved these tips about how to moderate an engaging, inspiring and educational panel. What are your tips?
Ask the AF team, and they will tell you, I LOVE commas and tend to throw copious amounts of them into every sentence. Thankfully, I stumbled upon this very useful reminder about when (and when not) to use them yesterday. Am I doing any better, Josh? (Editor’s note: Still some problems, but getting better!)
Finally, because this section is all about learning, I have to share Chloe’s latest piece on how to make time in your already busy life for professional development. I promise it’s worth it!
Live it:
Have I mentioned I’m headed to the beach next week? On the agenda are wave frolicking, bay kayaking, margarita drinking, and book reading. I’m mildly ashamed to admit that I haven’t finished a novel in years, but nonfiction books are my jam. Thank goodness Lydia Pitea hooked me up with a killer beach reading list.
Love it:
Nary a morning has dawned in the last month when I haven’t demanded, “Alexa, play Lizzo!” It’s a guaranteed recipe for starting my day off on the right foot. Her Tiny Desk Concert this week is too much fun. Three cheers for that flute solo! (Warning: lots of language in this one)
