More on the tolerance of the Left for discussion
Barack Obama’s campaign on Stanley Kurtz:
Tonight, WGN radio is giving right-wing hatchet man Stanley Kurtz a forum to air his baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smears. He’s currently scheduled to spend a solid two-hour block from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. pushing lies, distortions, and manipulations about Barack and University of Illinois professor William Ayers.
Tell WGN that by providing Kurtz with airtime, they are legitimizing baseless attacks from a smear-merchant and lowering the standards of political discourse.
This description of Stanley is, on its face, absurd. He’s a journalist who does reams and reams of research. Is he a conservative? Yes. Is he a “smear-merchant”? Of course not. Anyone who has read his work would know this.
Then you have this. It’s a podcast of Stanley’s appearance on the Milt Rosenberg show. Rosenberg offered the Obama campaign equal time to appear; they declined. Instead, they had their supporters deluge the network with the most ignorant of phone calls calling for the silencing of Stanley. I mean, you have got to be kidding me.
(And yes, Will, this post is largely for your benefit.)
