The Jon Stewart Backlash?

Is it finally here? I’ll just say that I’m with Will, who’s with Tucker, in being annoyed by Jon Stewart:

You know what? I’m just gonna say it: I’m bored bored bored of John Stewart. The Crossfire thing was the final straw, the shark jumping. He’s permanently tainted, and from here on out we can only look forward to the long slide into “Remember when that guy was funny.” Sanctimony is death to satire.

Then, of course, there’s Richard Cohen, and JVL throws in his 2 cents here. Seriously, The Daily Show really isn’t that funny or interesting. Nor is it all that well watched. The size of your audience is less important than the strength of your ideas, as Conventional Folly’s tens of readers will realize, but c’mon: the man has far disproportionate influence when compared to his reach. I for one welcome the Jon Stewart Backlash. it’s about time.
