Blagojevich, Shock-n-Y'all

By: AF Editors

Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich has missed the bulk of his impeachment trial (scheduled to conclude this afternoon) because he’s been on a media tour all week, hitting everything from The View to the Today Show to Larry King and Rachel Maddow. Over and over again, he’s insisted that the proceedings are unfair. He’s equated his arrest to the U.S. when it was attacked at Pearl Harbor, mangled an analogy about a horse thief, and said he is the “anti-Nixon” (which technically would make him “a crook.”) He’s name-dropped everyone from Senators Kennedy and McCain to Governors Doyle and Sebelius, from Rep. Rahm Emanuel to presidential advisor Valerie Jarrett. He has certainly overplayed his martyr card, going so far as to compare himself to Martin Luther King Jr, Gandhi, and Nelson Mandela. Needless to say, the state is tired of his antics, and basically can’t be shocked by anything he says.

Who will he liken himself to next to try and stay in the news cycle?
